Rick Ross, joined thousands of fans on Monday in protest of a judge’s jail sentence in Meek Mill’s probation violation case in Philadelphia.

Some notable Philadelphia Eagle players including Malcolm Jenkins, Torrey Smith, Jalen Mills and Wendell Smallwood were among the Ph attendance.

Rick Ross addressed the crowd saying

 “I’m here to support my brother Meek Mill. I want y’all to understand that if it take Meek Mill to draw this attention, we gonna use Meek Mill to draw this attention that is gonna speak for so many others.”

Meek has since started serving a 2 to 4-year prison sentence for violating his probation. In addition to the rally, an online petition pushing for his release now has over 350,000 signatures.

American Football Player Colin Kaepernick voiced his concern regarding the sentencing saying;

“Sadly there are Black folks going through the same radicalized injustice(s) within the justice system that Meek Mill has experienced for over a decade EVERY SINGLE DAY. This requires more than just gradual reform in laws—It requires a swift overhaul”
